We're local — located in Historic Deerfield, kids explore our natural landscape and eat fresh, local food from nearby farms.

Music to our ears — students have the opportunity to learn instruments starting in third grade and everyone progresses to musical ensembles.

Pine Hill, our 12-acre outdoor education center includes nature trails and campsites, a vernal pond, and indoor classroom space.

Kindergarten

Our youngest students are scientists and artists, naturalists and writers, mathematicians and thespians. They are also master fairy house builders, make-believers, four square champions, and fierce gaga ball competitors.

Lower School

Our elementary school is for grades K-5. Guided by loving teachers who are experts in early childhood development, our elementary schoolers develop a joy in learning, a craving for intellectual challenge, and habits of mind that prepare them for successful academic futures.

Upper School

Our middle school is for grades 6-9. Our small classes and close-knit, global community allow every student to feel present and respected, and teachers and students develop strong, lifelong bonds. Central to our day is a morning meeting when we gather to cheer on our sports teams, discuss issues, and share announcements.

Our community includes both international and domestic boarding students in grades 3-9, allowing students at a pivotal age to gain an understanding of the wider world and to cultivate open-mindedness, compassion, independence, and collaboration. We offer a warm, nurturing, down-to-earth environment, and each of the five dormitories feels like a real home.
